So many thoughts about my surprise package today.. This was a pre-order for a palette that was supposed to come out late September/early October but I was so pleasantly surprised to receive it today! I’m not even a Muppets fan but I fell in love with all the colors when reading Temptalia’s blog so I had to have it! It was a crazy pre-order process but I managed to snag 2. I regret being overly excited and ordering 2, especially since I found out later that theBalm is releasing the same colors in another themed palette.  I have #289 and #290 out of 1000 total made. It’s a beautifully slim palette with gorgeous colors. I haven’t swatched any yet because I’m weird and I don’t want to ruin it yet haha. I thought this would be kind of in compliance with my no-buy-makeup-in-August rule because I would receive it October but now I feel like I failed since it came today. haha All in all, very excited for this palette!

Haul from drugstore.com during their 20% off everything sale: Vanicream sunscreen - I wanted to try a new mineral sunscreen for the body (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). I haven’t heard of this brand before but it had really good reviews and is supposedly recommended by dermatolgists..but aren’t they all? Avene Innovation Eluage Cream - Contains retinaldehyde (a form of Vitamin A) for anti-aging benefits. This has really good review from Makeupalley.com. Avene is a French brand that is most known for their Thermal Spring Water. Avene Thermal Spring Water - This came in a 3-pack but I put the other two in the refrigerator. Some say it’s water in a can, many others say it’s just AMAZING. We’ll see. Avalon Organics Lavender Daily Moisturizer - My cheeks have been dry lately and I wanted an “organic” moisturizer that is lightweight. This has good reviews on Makeupalley.com and I hope it works out for me.

theBalm Muppet Palette

I am on a strict no-buy policy for makeup in the month of August but when I saw that theBalm was letting some people pre order their new limited edition Muppet Palette (1000 palettes only!), I had to break the rule for just this once.

I feel a tiny tiny bit guilty but at the same time I don’t because I was really good about not buying makeup in August until today. Can’t say the same about skincare. Note to self: You are not allowed to buy any makeup or any skincare products (unless you’ve run out of a product) in September!!!

[p.s. it was mayhem on theBalm’s facebook page yesterday and today. Yesterday they announced they would open up to some pre-orders, limit 2 and gave out an email address for people to email. Luckily, I check Facebook way too much and emailed as soon as I could, which was about 45 mins after the announcement. Then they said that the pre-order list closed and that people who did make it would receive a confirmation email by 9am this morning. I didn’t get one this morning and I was SO SAD. I just checked my email not too long ago and saw my confirmation email that was received at 8:02pm. I just about died. They’re going to have another pre-order thing but this time they said they’ll announce it 24 hours ahead.]
